Lab Teaching Assistant
**

Job Description:**



Set up and clean up
materials for student laboratories.



Teach two or more
sections of introductory Biological Sciences lab for majors per semester.



This may include
mentoring student groups that are performing a research project.



Prepare solutions and
lab materials.



Involved in information
management (grades, ordering, maintenance of content in Brightspace/D2L
learning management system)



Other duties as the need
arises, such as equipment maintenance, performing trial runs of experiments,
checking inventory, etc


**Minimumqualifications:**


This position requires a
bachelor's degree in biology or related field. Candidates should have a
strong interest in teaching and learning. Relevant work experience or
additional education is a plus.


**Skills:**



Able to manage time and
plan what needs to be done.



Able to accurately
follow written or verbal instructions.



Flexible and able to
work cooperatively with others.



Experience measuring
with basic laboratory equipment.



Able to perform
calculations necessary for mixing solutions.



Familiar with basic cell
and molecular biology equipment and techniques.



Computer skills
including Microsoft Office and web-based tools for collaboration and
communication.



Basic competence with
statistics



Experience with Research
preferred.
